If you listen closely, you may hear the waves lapping against an ancient cypress canoe. This is the Tocabaga’s domain, the Indian culture that put the “Old” in “Old Florida”. You’re in De Soto territory, where a Kayak or Paddleboard is more practical than a cellphone. Only the top one percent of locals know where to find this primordial oasis.
You’re obviously qualified, you’ve made it this far after all. The St. Pete Beach area may be the most diverse and prolific spot to enjoy watersports in the entire State of FLA. Who knew you could be less than a mile from over a dozen restaurants, yet completely removed from civilization. So grab your board and try and find this world of mangrove majesty. Put the “Peace” in “Peace Out”.
